Tips For Success
- Remember this is a college preparatory class. Many students report that this is the most challenging math class they have taken thus far in high school and they must work harder in this class than other math classes.
- It is important that when you are having difficulty in the class you attend tutoring. Tutoring is available from 3:00 - 6:00 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and Tuesday until 3:30. No tutoring on Friday.
- You will have homework every night. There may be occasional exceptions.
- Make-up work is the responsibility of the student. I will adhere to the school policy. Make-up tests/quizzes/exams will be given only in the case of excused absences.
- Students should be prepared for class with pencils, paper, binder, textbook, and TI83/84 calculator (preferred model) every day. Additionally, they will need graph paper and dry erase markers.
- Students should have a binder for math with tabs arranged according to the syllabus. Lack of organization can be a very real deterrent to student success.

- There is very little opportunity for extra credit or partial credit. Some test and quizzes will contain a small bonus but that is all. I value both realistic assessment and feedback so that students understand their true level of success.
- Grades are updated almost daily in the online grade book program. Please check grades frequently so that you will be aware of your son/daughter’s academic performance in the class.
